Robert B. Schwarz, CEO
Mr. Schwarz is Chief Executive Officer of Holland Group, a leading provider of onsite manufacturing outsourcing services. He is a senior manufacturing executive with a strong history of effecting growth and enhancing profitability in large and up-and-coming companies. He has successfully increased business and operational performance in multi-plant, union and union-free environments.
Formerly, Mr. Schwarz was Vice President of General Electric, North American Production, Lighting Division. In this position, he oversaw 26 vertically integrated manufacturing operations in three countries with a total cost responsibility of more than $800 million. In each of three successive years, he significantly generated net cost productivity improvement, and drastically reduced manufacturing cycle time.
Following his tenure at General Electric, Mr. Schwarz was offered the position of Vice President, Manufacturing North America at Black and Decker. Within two years, his impressive results in operational improvements led him to assume responsibilities as Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain – Europe. Because of his successful transformation of this operation and reduction in major costs, Black and Decker created a worldwide role for Mr. Schwarz as Worldwide Vice President, Manufacturing Industrial Business Group.
Mr. Schwarz is a recognized expert in Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma quality programs, and Supply Chain Management and has received numerous industry awards and recognitions. He served on the Advisory Boards for both General Electric and Black and Decker. In addition, he acted as co-chair of the Penn State Industrial Advisory Board and President of the Center for Human Growth at Indiana University. Mr. Schwarz received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
